Help Cranky and Flynn Put Out the Fire
A fire breaks out on the Island of Sodor, and Cranky needs you to help unload Flynn so he can put out the fire. Place the crate on the loading area with Flynn on the track, and he'll drive into the crate. Use Cranky and the magnet inside his hook to raise the crate onto the loading surface and the doors will fly open. Flynn will race out onto the tracks and knock over the flame tab, which will put out the fire and save the day!
As Flynn continues to drive around the tracks, he can keep driving through the crate or reload into the crate to put out the fire again.
Imaginative Play Encouraged with Remote Controller
With his kind face and friendly introduction, Cranky brings you right into the story of "Day of the Diesels!" The remote controller makes it possible to play with Cranky and Flynn as a firefighting team, allowing all the team members to work together to put out that fire. The remote controller is easy to use with the included instructions--it lowers, raises, and rotates the crane hook and head.
The included full loop of track also stimulates imaginative play, as it allows Flynn the space to continue circling around or to get ready for another firefighting adventure.
Our testers found that some adult assistance will be required for assembly, but once Cranky is up and running, children are fully capable of helping Cranky and Flynn do their jobs.

So when we came home to find this Cranky and Flynn playset had arrived from Amazon, he was ecstatic. The DVD actually has the promo for this set on it. I LOVE... - Remote controlled Cranky! Huge (3/4 of the height of my son), smack-talking, 360 rotating, with dual action hook (picks things up with the hook or with the magnet in the hook). Plus he's very stable. When played with separately, my son has spent hours crashing Cranky around. His arm doesn't move while hoisting (though it can be raised or lowered), rather the hook lowers and raises on thick string. I gave this 4 stars as sometimes the hook doesn't lower correctly, with a little tug on the hook it unspools. (UPDATE: changing to 5 stars...the problem with the hook has gone away after a few weeks!) - The crate that Flynn is delivered in (blue) has some great options.
