I ordered Lights and Sounds Mater for my son for his 3rd Birthday. Although he looks like any ordinary metal toy truck,the minute my son's hands touched him he came to life. Mater said a few cute phases ,his headlight came on and he seemed just that much more fun to play with . My son loves him and takes him every where. Maters a hit with everyone!

I had to get this for my 2yr old when I saw it. She loves Cars. I showed her how to use him & currently it is her favorite Mater. Make sure you show your kids how to use it. If you hold down the button, which is his air filter, for 3seconds the lights will stay on for a few minutes & turn off automatically. For the record, if you look around you can get 4cars in one package- which saves a little if you buy them at $10 each. I found it for $35, only thing is Mater was not included so I had to get him separately.

MY 3 yr old son has the 4 pack collection of talking cars and we looked all over ( Austin Tx.) trying to locate Mater. I was really happy to find it here on amazon. It was a little more expensive. But since I dont have to pay for gas, or any other toys my son may find at yet another toy store, it probably evened out.
( somehow we never leave empty handed) I would recomend this little guy. My son plays with his little " cars crew" all the time. He is small enough to be taken along as well.

What's not to love? It's the original ViewMaster! Instantly brought back memories from my own childhood. (My mom even saved our slide reels that work great in the new one we bought!). My 2-year-old and 4-year-old both enjoy this toy. Holds their attention for a little while at least! My daughter had an easier time using the pull down handle, but she's more fine motor oriented than my older child. The slide reels themselves are flimsy and bend easily, but this Viewmaster is incredibly tough and takes falls and beatings well.

This ViewMaster viewer is very much the same as the one I had when I was a child. Very durable, and it is easy for young children to use. The price is certainly reasonable, making it easy for everyone to afford. Children will love it, and with a few reels, will be enthralled for hours. You can't go wrong with this item. It is difficult, however, to find a great variety of suitable reels. I recommend the scenic and nature reels, and the wild animal reels.

I bought this because I loved mine when I was young and because I'm rather old-school anti-technology. My almost three-year old LOVES it - and I adore the 3-D pictures... The additional discs shoulds be cheaper, though.
